A BASE BALL SCHEME TO PUT MANSFIELD IN IT AGAIN Enthusiastic base ball fans "have started a movement which promises to put Mansfield in the base ball firmament the coming season. A few informal meetings attended by Carl McVey, Ted Routzahn, Paul Sturges, Doctor Burns, W. A. Hambleton, Charles Haag, and Art Walker has resulted in drawing up the following petition to which it is expected that there will be liberal subscriptions.

The petition says: Having been without a baseball club in Mansfield for several years past, and it being again desirable to establish in our city another representative play "The Great American Game," the following proposition is submitted to the fans of Mansfield: First. To organize a base ball com pany which shall be either incorporated or not, as the shareholders may determine. Second. To raise the sum of $1,500 by issuing 1,500 shares at $1 per share. Such shares to be non assessable.

Third. Subsertptions for shares to be payable as soon as the total number of shares are sold and not before. Fourth. Immediately after all THE CITY IN BRIEF: Probated--The last will and testament of George W. Hunt was probated this morning.

From Orville--The Si Plunkard company arrived in the city this morning from Orville, Final Account--In probate court S. G. Cummings, executor of the estate of Saphronia Wharf, has filed his final account. Died Suddenly--David Chaney, of Ashland, who 1 has been ill with inflate mation of the bowels, died suddenly Friday night. Final Account-Benjamin Berry, executor of the estate of Jacob Berry, has filed his final settlement account in probate court.

Pomona Grange--The Richland County Pomona Grange will meet at Columbia Grange hall in Lexington, Thursday, Feb. 4, at 9:30 a. m. Suit for Money--The Hughes Granite and Marble company, of Clyde, has begun action in 'Squire Jarvis' court against A. H.

Idleman for $250, alloged to be due plaintiff. Additional Donations--Mayor Brown reported this morning two additional donations to the Humane society fund. The Sunday school at St. Paul's churen gave $10 and "Cash," $1. Died at Shelby--Charles Bauschlinger, aged 29, died at Shelby Friday after a few weeks' illness.

In case the date falls on Sunday, the checks will be here the day before.Galion Inquirer, Painfully Scalded- Mrs.

Harrison, of North Columbus street, was painfully scalded Friday morning about 9 0- clock. She was carrying a bucket of boiling water when she slipped in such a manner that the fiery liquid was thrown about her head and face. She received immediate medical attention and is resting easily at Galion Leader. Relief--In response to the appeal in the Christian Herald from missionarles and Miss Ellen M. Stone, the late captive, an offering will be sent to the sufferers from famine in Macedonia.

Persons wishing to contribute will please place name and contribution in front door letter box 100 Park avenue west, by Jan. 25. Offerings will be acknowledged in the Christian Herald. Susan M. Sturges.

Admission to Hospital--An application has been filed in probate court, asking admission of Laura Belle Galloway into the Ohio hospital for epileptics. The victim of this disease is a resident of Shelby and 26 years old. Judge Bricker stated an effort will be made to have this woman admitted if at all' possible. It is thought that satisfactory arrangements can be made with the Y. M. C.

A. teams and the shop men's league so that they can use the ball grounds on Saturdays so as not to interfere with these clubs. As soon as a sufficient amount of encouragement is given to the plan a meeting will be called to consider future plans. With Mansfield in a state league this summer and with the shop men's league playing ball local fans feel as if life will be worth living. one in Ohio, is filled most of the time and it is often difficult to place patients therein.
