News Journal, Mansfield, O. Wednesday, June 1.1988 Welden Schiefer Eldon Grafmiller More obituaries on Page 5-A Earl D. Eicher CRESTLINE Earl D. Eicher, 79, of 339 North Wiley St. died at 5:10 p.m.

Tuesday in Crestline Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born Dec. 8, 1908, in Liberty Township, Crawford County, and lived in that area all his life. He retired in 1974 from the Shelby Steel Tube Co. and was a farmer.

On Dec. 24, 1932, he married Rella M. Eicher, who died Aug. 21, 1986. Survivors include three sons, Charles of New Washington, and Richard and Carl, both of Crestline; one daughter, Mrs.

General (Irene) Lee of Crestline; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Sheldon Eicher; one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter; and one brother. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, where services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Ceme io-A obituaries. Dennis Predmore MANSFIELD Former Mansfield resident Dennis K. Predmore, 88, of Greentown died Monday evening in Aultman Hospital in Canton. He was born Dec. 11, 1899, in Logan County to Frank and Eva Robinson Predmore.

He retired in 1964 after 35 years of service with Greyhound Bus Co. He was a charter member of the ATU 1040 and was awarded a 50-year golden card. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Shoemaker; two sons, Francis Dwight and Raymond Odell, both of Galion; nine grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; a brother, Jesse F. of Shelby; and a sister, Clara Jane Highland of Rushsylvania. His first wife, Clare Shuey Predmore, died in 1943.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Ellen Mason, in 1986; a brother; and two sisters. Calling hours will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Booth Funeral Home, Greentown, where services will be held at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Richard Lehto.

Burial will be in Greentown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greentown paramedics. Margaret Hauck WILLARD Margaret Hauck, 91, formerly of 512 West Pearl St. died May 23 in Meadowpark Nursing Home in Prescot, Ariz. Mrs.

Hauck was born May 1, 1897, in Bucyrus, living in Willard most of her life until moving to Warren, in 1980 and then to Prescot. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Willard. She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Moody of Dewey, one grandson, Ronald Moody; two greatgrandchildren; two brothers, James Ulmer of Tuscon, Ariz, and Milton Edith Virtue BUCYRUS Edith Virtue, 75, of 511 Tiffin St. died Tuesday morning in Bucyrus Community Hospital. She had been in failing health since December and seriously ill since March.

She was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Bucyrus to Delbert and Idella Vought Winkelfoss. Mrs. Virtue was a 1931 graduate of Bucyrus High School, earning the American Legion Award her senior year. She earned a bachelor's degree from The University of Toledo and a master's degree in social work from The Ohio State University.

Early in her career she worked for the American Red Cross Disaster Service, stationed out of St. Louis, Mo. Later in Toledo, she worked at the Jewish Home for the Aged, the Toledo State Hospital and taught at The University of Toledo. Her last full-time employment was as director of social services at Tiffin State Hospital, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Society, Book Club of Bucyrus, Bucyrus Little Theater, TWIG No.

13, a legislative chairman of the American Association of University Women and represented the city of Bucyrus at the District 5 Area Council on Aging. She was past president of Friends of the Bucyrus Public Library, was treasurer of the Crawford County Branch of The Ohio State University and was also a poll worker for the Board of Elections. Surviving are her husband, Robert, whom she married April 7, 1948; one daughter, Mrs. David (Jane) Dodd of Dublin, Ohio; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ker-mit and Chester.

Mrs. Virtue requested that her body be donated to the Medical College of Toledo. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church by the Rev. Michael Wiechers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Hope Lutheran Church, through the church office. Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. MANSFIELD Eldon W. Graf-miller, 64, of Mansfield and formerly of Ashland, died Tuesday morning. He was a retired desk clerk and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by a daughter, Dee Dee Dawson of Shelby; six grandchildren; and a cousin, Van Grafmiller of Mansfield. Arrangements, by the DeVore Funeral Home in Sunbury, are incomplete. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Charles W. Goebel BUCYRUS Charles W.

Goebel, 71, of 313 Lucas St. died Monday at 11:27 a.m. in Bucyrus Community Hospital after being in failing health the past year. He was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Bucyrus to Carl and Bessie Neumann Goebel.

He was last employed by Galion Ironworks and had worked for the Shelby Depot for several years. He lived most of his life in Bucyrus and was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and the Crawford County Historical Society. Surviving are his wife, Louise Anderson Goebel, whom he married Feb. 6, 1943; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Ross of Bucyrus; two sons, Robert and Gene, both of Bucyrus; and one brother, Gilbert of San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by one brother. Calling hours are anytime after noon today at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home by the Rev. Michael Wiechers.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church Radio Fund and left at the funeral home. Delores Grogg PROSPECT Delores R. "Dee" Grogg, 20, of 301 North St. died Monday in Marion General Hospital.

She was born Nov. 26, 1967, in Marion to Ray A. and Sandra J. Oberholtzer Grogg. She was a 1987 graduate of Marion Harding High School and Tri-Rivers School of Horticulture.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three brothers, Denzil Burkhardt of Cardington, Richard Grogg of Marion and Brent Grogg of Prospect; two sisters, Toni Chapman of Mansfield and Teri Howard of Daisy, and her paternal grandparents, Burton and Lucille Grogg of Marion. Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger Funeral Home by the Rev. C.L, Fuqua. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery.

Alfred H. Rose BUCYRUS Alfred H. Rose, of 3008 Ohio 602, Bucyrus, died Tuesday morning at St. Anthony's Medical Center in Columbus. Mr.

Rose was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Crestline, and he spent most of his life in the Crestline area. He was a Baptist and a sawman at the Fleet-, wood Lumber Yard, Galion; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a life member of Chapter 100, Disabled American Veterans of Bucyrus. He is survived by his wife, Irene Stewart Rose, whom he married Feb.

20, 1970; one daughter, Donna Rose at home; two stepchildren, Jimmy EJ Coldwell and Brenda Huffner, both of California; three step-grandchildren; one brother, Roy R. of North Robinson; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Hoffman of Crestline. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Calling hours are today from 6 to 8 p.m.

NEVADA, Ohio Welden Schiefer, 77, of 648 Spore-Bran-dywine Road, Nevada, died Tuesday afternoon in Bucyrus Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born July 26, 1910, in Holmes Township, Crawford County to J. Walter Schiefer and Salome Mae Stiger Schiefer. He was married Sept. 30, 1936, to Ruth Jeannette Heinlen, who survives.

He worked in the Wyoming oil-' fields, was a farmer and retired from Swan Rubber in 1975. He graduated from Holmes-Liberty High School in 1928. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and on the board of sessions. He was a member of the Bucyrus Masonic Lodge 139 Bucyrus chapter 160 RAM, Bucyrus council 83 Marion Commandery 36 Knights Templar, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, a 32nd degree Mason, and Bucyrus chapter 3 Order of Eastern Star He served on the Republican Central Committee for Tod Township and was a member of the Crawford County Fair Board, the Holmes-Liberty Board of Education and the Crawford County Farm Bureau. He is survived by two sons, Nor man and Allan, both of Holmes Township; two daughters, Karen Schiefer Scott of Holmes Township and Marian Schiefer Vance of Dublin; 10 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis. Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wise Funeral Home in Bucyrus, where Eastern Star services will be held at 6:45 p.m. Friday. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Saturday at the funeral home by the Rev. Larry Bertsch and Pastor Thomas Schiefer. Burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery. R. D. Cooper ASHLAND R. D. Cooper, 83, of 109 Harold Drive died Monday eve ning in Samaritan Hospital.

The son of the late Warren G. and Ethel Kesler Cooper, he was born Dec. 7, 1904, in Ashland County and was the founder of Cooper Bros. Construction Co. in Ashland.

He attended the Emanuel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Christian Homemakers Sunday School CTass. He is survived by two sons, Dan and Jack, both of Ashland; two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Marilyn) Pyn-chon and Mrs. Walter (Betty) Walker, both of Ashland; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don and Robert, both of Ashland and James of Columbus; and three sisters, Faye Garver and Kathryn Mosser, both of Ashland, and Evelyn Workman of Loudonville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Kime Cooper; one daughter; and one granddaughter.

Calling hours will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home, where services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Hawkins. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund. Roger L. McFee LODI Roger L. McFee, 36, of Lodi died Tuesday at his home after a sudden illness. Born in Akron on Jan.

15, 1952, he lived the past six years in Lodi, after moving from North Canton. He was a truck driver for Distributing of Medina and a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Mansfield. He was a leader and assistant pack master for the Lodi Cub Scout troop. Mr.

McFee is survived by his wife, Susan; two sons, Christopher and Jonathan, both at home; his parents, Jack and Susan McFee of North Canton; and two brothers, Michael of North Canton and Gregory of Massil-lon. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Parker and Son Funeral Home in Lodi, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. T.L.

Grotjohn of Mansfield. Burial will be in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in McDonaldsville. Ulmer of Northville, and one sister, Pauline Yates of Tuscon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton E.

Hauck in 1980 and by one son, Junior Elwood Hauck in 1942. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held today at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Lindsey Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Tobie B. Bryant MARION Tobie B. Bryant, 76, of 3194 Marion-Mt. Gilead Road died Tuesday morning at the Marion General Hospital. He was born April 14, 1912, in Glasgow, to William Howard Bryant and Carrie Yeager Bryant, both deceased.

Surviving are his wife, Delia Lucille Gorenflo Bryant of Marion; two sons, Tom of Edison, and Gary of San Mateo, one daughter, Patricia Cain of Mansfield; one brother, Lloyd Bryant of Glasgow, two sisters, Ann Wilson and Bessie Krause, both of Columbus; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Melvin; a brother, and a sister preceded Mr. Bryant in death. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Boyd Funeral Home, where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.
