MANSFIELD A petition to rezone from R-2 residential to R-1 residential a wide area roughly bounded by Bartley Avenue, the rear property lines of parcels on the south side of Park Avenue West, Shady Lane and Maple Street will be on the agenda for tonight's City Council caucus. The rezoning is being sought by the Glenwood-Parkwood Boulevard Association, which wants to maintain the residential character of its neighborhood. If approved by council when it meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building, the rezoning legislation would be forwarded to the city planning commission for a recommendation. A public hearing on the rezoning proposal is scheduled for Jan.

5 at 7 p.m., after which council can take final action on the petition. Also expected tonight is legislation aimed at giving the neighborhood group a variance for signs erected by association members at the entrances to the boulevards. The city's codes and permits department has ruled the signs violate the city's sign ordinance because they were erected in the public right-of-way, are larger than signs permitted in residential areas and weren't installed by a licensed sign erector. In addition, the group didn't apply for the required sign permit. However, 3rd Ward Councilman David Dalton has requested legislation that would grant a variance to the group for the signs.

MANSFIELD An investigation into the triple shooting and attempted suicide in the Roseland neighborhood Friday night is cointinuing while the suspect and one of the victims recover at Mansfield General Hospital. The suspect, Dale E. Carver, 41, of 1210 Boyle Road, was removed from surgical intensive care Sunday and was Water main repair work scheduled MANSFIELD Residents in the Marlow Heights allotment and in areas along Home Road are being urged to conserve water this week while the 24- inch water main on Home Road is removed from service for repairs. The line is scheduled for shutoff at 8 a.m. Tuesday and Service-Safety Director Richard Roberts said he anticipates restoration of full service by 8 p.m.

Thursday unless leaks develop. County crews also will be working in the area to replace a deteriorating concrete culvert box. As a result, Marion Avenue Road between LexingtonSpringmill and Trimble roads will be closed to through traffic beginning today and continuing through the rest of the week. Also closed to through traffic for the same period will be Home Road between Lexington-Springmill and Millsboro roads. Roberts said the city will continue to pump water into the distribution system through the 24-inch waterline on Cook Road, but he warned that the low water pressure may result in limited service to the Marlow Heights and Home Road residents.

Therefore, he advised, those persons should try to limit their water use. The service-safety director also said city water customers may find "rusty" or dirty water Tuesday through Friday, and there may be reduced water pressure as a result of the repair work. Roberts said the "rusty" water is not a health hazard and is safe to drink. He said that if any leaks are detected in the Home Road waterline, that line will remain out of service until the leaks are repaired. In that event, Roberts said, the city will make another announcement about the continued shutdown.

Ashland man's Ike collection ranked best in Ohio show listed in lair condition this morning. He was admitted with a self-inflicted shot- gun wound he received at his residence. One of the victims, Mark E.

Dickison, 23, who was shot once in the arm during a struggle at his 1047 Prier Road residence, remained in satisfactory condition this morning. Carver allegedly went to the Prier Road residence his mother-in-law's house between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Friday in an attempt to persuade his wife to return home, according to Richland County Prosecutor John W. Allen. Carver left and allegedly returned about 6 p.m., armed with a revolver, Allen said.

Carver's wife, 30-year-old Shirley Ann, and her mother, Reba Dickison, 53, were shot twice in the chest and killed, police said. Mrs. Carver's four children, ages 4 to 13, were at the house at the time. Mark Dickison got his own shotgun to defend himself and was shot, according to police Detective Lt. Charles Hriesik, who is in charge of the investigation.

One of the Ashland, Ohio, resident's displays is a penny he placed on the railroad tracks in Ashland, so the funeral train of former President Dwight D. Eisenhower could smash it. "I had to get there before daybreak," said McCoy, as he looked over his collection of Ike campaign items at the show.

His display included campaign buttons, Ike sunglasses, Ike earringsc Ike pencils and a host of other Ike items. A note alongside the flattened penny states that the funeral train passed over It at 6:12 a.m. on April 1, 1969. McCoy began collecting Eisenhower memorabilia four years ago, and the prize-winning display represents only a third of his full collection. He was one of 52 political collectors from across the country attending the show.

Ken L. Swanger, a collector from Shelby, was offering a campaign button from the 1908 presidential ticket of Socialists Eugene V. Debs and Ben Hanford for $175. Rick Rosen drove in from Washington, D.C., bearing a collection of campaign buttons, press badges, posters, books and even a periscope for parade watching. All are from the campaign of Robert Kennedy.

Philip E. Share MANSFIELD Philip E. Share, 47, of Warsaw, Ohio, husband of a former Mansfielder, died Saturday at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his residence. He was married June 17, 1956, to the former Marilyn King who survives. For the past 14 years, he was systems development manager of the General Electric Co.

Pluck MANSFIELD Mildred L. Pluck, 66, of 10 Blymyer died Saturday evening in Mansfield General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 31, 1915, in Mansfield and lived here all her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Cirle and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by a son, Donald E. of Mansfield, and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors by her pastor, the Rev. Robert Baker.

Helen M. Bush, 86, of 429 Edgehill Ave. died in Samaritan Hospital Saturday evening after a short illness. Mrs. Bush attended Ashland College and was a former teacher at the Thomas School and Roseberry School, both one-room schools in Ashland County.

She was a lifelong resident of Ashland County, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of Trinity Class and Dorcas Circle, and a 50-year member and past matron of Ashland Chapter 92, Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Lewis; one son, Clarence of Ashland; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Grover, 69, of 382 W. Railroad St. died in Galion Community Hospital Sunday morning. Born in Cheshire, Ohio, June 15, 1912, Mrs. Grover was a member of the Galion Church of Christ and had worked as a licensed practical nurse at Galion Community Hospital for 22 years, retiring in 1975.

Artrip BUCYRUS Kenneth William Ar trip, 46, of 2708 Albright Road, Bucyrus, died Sunday morning in Bucyrus Community Hospital after a two-year illness. He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Red Ash, Va. He had owned and operated service stations in the area for many years until becoming secretary of the Moose Lodge a number of years ago. He graduated from Richlands High School in Virginia in 1956.

He moved to Bucyrus the same year and has lived here since then. He was a member of the AM'VETS Post 27 and the Caddy Supper Club. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He is survived by his wife Wilma; four daughters, Pamela Sue Artrip of Florida, Mrs.

Chris (Kimera) Powell and Janet and Lisa Artrip, all of Bucyrus; one son, Bradley of Bucyrus; one grandson; one brother, Roy Carson Artrip Jr. of. Fredericksburg, and one sister, Mrs. Thor (Glendean) Basich of Bellville, Mich. Services will be held at 3 pm.

Pasheilich LEXINGTON Peter A. Pasheilich, 63, of 255 Hampton Drive died this morning in Mansfield General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Mansfield March 13, 1918, and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. Mr. Pasheilich was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Navy, and was a retired employee of the Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Walnut St. until November 1980 when he moved to San Jose, died Saturday morning in a nursing home in Santa Clara, following a two-month illness. He was born June 6, 1898, in Crawford County and was employed for 21 years at the Wise Furniture Store and the Wise Funeral Home in Bucyrus. He later worked at the Shelby Depot as a maintenance supervisor until 1955. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bucyrus, numerous Bucyrus Masonic organizations, the Aladdin Temple Shrine of Columbus and the Bucyrus Shrine Club.
