Harris MAwcnn twk Elder Berthrand p3W Dorothy Elizabeth Tomb Snyder SUN CITY, Ariz. -Former Mansfield resident Dorothy Elizabeth Tomb Snyder, 92, died April 17, 2001, at The Royal Oaks Health Care Center in Sun City. Dorothy was born April 22, 1908, in Ellwood City, to Hugh William and Mabel Katherine Woods Tomb.

A former teacher in Butler schools, she married Preston G. Snyder, C.L.U., on June 2, 1934. Her husband was district manager of the Mansfield office of Prudential Insurance Co. While in Mansfield, they sang in the choir at First United Presbyterian Church from 1965-1970. They then moved to Tipp City, Ohio, where Preston died suddenly the following day.

Dorothy was also a member of Mansfield Garden Club, A.A.U.W., Book Club, Music Club, and Ruth Order of the Eastern Star. She was a helpmate to her husband and a loving role model to her surviving daughters and their families: Jocelyn Lee (Russell) Hermes of Tipp City, Ohio, and Dorette Tomb (James) Ward of Strawberry, AZ; grandsons and wives, Edward, John and David Hermes and Jim Jr. and Greg Ward; and seven greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Snyder's teachings will live in the memory of her family and friends.

Dorothy's daughter, Dorette, stated, "The best, and most cherished gift she gave her daughters is the introduction to their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, a gift that has been passed on to Dorothy's five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren." She was a member of First Church of The Nazarene, where she had been a church board member and had held other offices. She was a oast nresident of Business and Professional Womens Club of Shelby, had been a volunteer at MedCentralShelby hospital for many years, volunteered for FISH, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and served Richland County Board of Elections in various capacities. Mrs. Patton is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Elnora Patton of Perrysburg; daughter and son-in-law, Gene Ellen and the Rev. Leonard W.

Budd of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Shelly R. Genaro, Nic-hole L. Sharpe, Bryan A. Budd and Melanie R. Budd; five greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Dick Danals of Canon City, Wilbur Danals of Perrysville; five sisters, Betty Briner of Mansfield, Pansy Tucker of St.

Petersburg, Zelda Thomas and Jacqueline Wilson, both of Largo, Linda Clark of Pinellas Park, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Patton on June 16, 1989; two sons, Gerald Patton and Raymond Patton; three brothers, Everett Danals, Albert Danals, Wayne Danals; and sister, Orthel-lo Danals. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 from 24 and 6-8 p.m.

at Turner Funeral Home, 168 W. Main Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First Church of The Nazarene, Shelby, with the Rev. Leonard W.

Paullin LOUDONVILLE Robert M. Paullin, 83, of 314 Hoffman Road died Monday morning, Oct. 1, 2001, in Samaritan Regional Health System emergency room after a sudden illness. Mr. Paullin was born July 11, 1918 in Loudonville, the son of the late O.P.

and Edna Mae Coble Paullin. He was a 1936 graduate of Loudonville High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving onboard the destroyer USS Vallette. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover Lodge 115 Loudon Post 257 American Legion, The Tbastmasters Club and Loudonville-Perrysville Bowling Club. He was a 43-year employee of The Flxible Company, retiring in 1980 from the parts sales department.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Jean Swainhart Paullin, whom he married May 29, 1948; and four sisters, Ruth Helbert and Dorothy Stockmon, both of Loudonville, Jeanne Shreve of Mansfield and Norma McClaran of Ashland. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Paullin, and two sisters, Marie Wickham and Helen Roach Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Terry E.

Ruther officiating. Burial with military services conducted by the American Legion and VFW will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Courtney 27, of 480 Hensley died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Galion Community Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion I 'Solomon Glenn MANSFIELD Elder Berthrand "Solomon" Glenn, 63, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at MedCentralMansfield Hospital.

He went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Akron, Ohio, he had lived in Mansfield since 1965. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was employed with General Motors for 20 years, retiring GLENN in 1988.

He was Pastor of Christ Temple Church of Mansfield. He attended Akron Bible Institute and Mount Vernon Bible College. He served on the Community Action Government Board, CACY Board and Special Board for Mayor of Mansfield. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two stepsisters. Surviving are his wife, Minnie; daughter, Resa Fromby-Lockhart of Cleveland; sisters, Juanita Bradley of Akron and Eleanor (Elder Felix) Johnson of Atwater; brother-in-law, Calvin Crawford of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Helen (James) Smith of Dawson, two grandchildren; four god children; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services Wednesday 7 p.m. at Christ Temple Church. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 12 noon at Greater St. John Church of God In Christ, Mansfield, Elder John Mayes officiating. Interment Mansfield Cemetery.

Procession will form at 290 Rowland Avenue and condolences may be sent to 290 Rowland Mansfield 44903 and 930 Danmead Wayne Keith Moore MOUNT VERNON Wayne Keith Moore, 10, of 705 Burns Mansfield, died Friday, Sept. 21; 2001, at Children's Hospital in Columbus after a long illness. Wayne was born Sept.

9, 1991 in Mount Vernon, the son of Wendell and ChristoLa Wilson Moore Sr. He resided in Mount Vernon for most of his life, moving to Mansfield only recently. He attended Dan Emmett and West Elementary schools. Wayne loved going to Sunday school and cnurcn when he was able. His hobbies included playing games, drawing and crafts.

Like all boys, he loved to ride his bike and go cart; go roller skating on the sidewalk and was just learning to rollerblade. Wayne also loved music. Wayne leaves to cherish his memory his father, Wendell sister, Monique Canty of New York; brothers, Wendell Jr. and Wesley Moore of Delaware; grandmother, Phyllis Beckum of New York; aunts, uncles, cousins; two nephews; his best friend, Josh, and many other friends and relatives. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother in 1997; his paternal grandparents; an aunt; and three uncles.

Friends may call at Apostolic Faith Church, 801 W. High Mount Vernon, on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Elder Massey will officiate and burial will follow immediately in Mound View Cemetery. Harry E. Ross MANSFIELD Harry E. Ross, 90, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Woodlawn Nursing Home. Mr.

Ross was born December 8, 1910 in Mansfield to Calvin and Mary Adams Ross. He was employed at Westinghouse for 40 years before retiring in 1970. Mr. Ross was a -member of Mayflower Congregational Church as well as Mansfield Liederkranz. He was a very well known athlete of many sports during the 1930s.

Mr. Ross is survived by his daughter, Judith A. Brumen-schenkel of Mansfield; grandson, Jack Brumenschenkel and his wife Karen of Shelby and their two daughters, Rachel and Morgan, still at home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Schwartz Ross on June 6, 1992 as well as five brothers, three sisters, and son in law, John Brumenschenkel. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, Oct.

3, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park with the Reverend Gary Wilson officiating. Finefrock-Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayflower Congregational Church, 548 N. McElroy Road, Mansfield 44905.

to' iiaimuuiiu WILLARD Raymond Hammond, 71, of West Laurel Street died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Willard Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness. Born Dec. 23, 1929 in Garrett, Ind, and moving to Willard in 1948, he retired as a tool and die maker at Quanex in Shelby. He was a member of the American Legion in Willard, D.A.V.

in Nor-walk, where he was an officer, United Steel Workers and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Hammond was an Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Arleen Moore Hammond, whom he married August 19, 1950; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and David Sullivan of Hilliard; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Deborah Hammond of Willard; three grandchildren, David, Daniel and Melissa; brother, Robert Hammond of Sun City, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Viola Cartwright Hammond; two brothers, Jack Hammond and Tim Hammond.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Gifford officiating. Burial will be at Attica Venice Cemetery in Attica.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Willard or to the American Heart Fund. Virginia Lane Evarts MANSFIELD Former Mansfield resident Virginia Lane Evarts, 91, of Plainville, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jinny was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margorie Lane. She graduated from Lake Erie College, Painesville, Ohio in 1931.

After her marriage in 1934, Jinny and her beloved late husband, Marvin, lived in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey before settling in Mansfield, Ohio in 1959 for 45 of their 66 wonderful years together. They moved back to Connecticut in 1994. She was an associate member of Farmington Congregational Church. She will be fondly remembered by many whose lives she touched. People were the most important part of her life.

She was a selfless volunteer at church, school and Red Cross. She leaves two sons, Bill Evarts of Westlake Village, California, and Steve Evarts of Bristol, two "daughters-in-love," Nanci and Caren; four grandchildren, Jeff, Kim, Jen and John; and great-granddaughter, Emma. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or a charity of the donor's choice. Janet E. Kimes MANSFIELD Janet E. Kimes, 80, died early Sunday morning, Sept. 30, 2001, at MedCentralMansfield Hospital. Janet was born July 7, 1921, in Mansfield, to Charles Franklin and Flossie Elizabeth Zaebst Gadfield.

She held many administrative positions with Ohio Brass, Hartman Electric, and retired from Gorman Rupp Co. in 1983. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church and graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1940. Janet was involved with MOABWA Chapter of American Business Women's Association in which she held many offices including twice president and twice Woman of the Year. She also was active in Ruth ChaDter 17 Oder Mansfield Commandary 21 of Knights Templar and the Renaissance Theater Senior Citizen Group.

She is survived by her loving family: son, Roger J. Griebling of Columbus; daughter and son-in-law, Linda G. and Stuart D. Hef-fernan of Santa Rosa Beach, granddaughter and her spouse, Amy and Cliff Bray of Atlanta; brother and sister-in-law, James F. and Virginia Gadfield of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors today, Oct. 2, from 6-9 p.m. with an Eastern Star Service at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Paul Larson with calling one hour prior to the service.

Harris was born May 11, 1919 in Sorge Creek, Virginia. She was a member of Christian Life Center, Life on the Rock Ministries, Lamplighters Council for the Blind, and Y-Handy Helpers. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Harris of Canton, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Jim Howington of Blue-field, West Virginia, and Martha and John Goon of Galion, with whom she made her home the past 19 years; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Leona Herndon of Galion; sister, Edith O'Harra of California; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. and Bertha Herndon; an infant son; two grandchildren; four brothers, Rush, David, Ed, and Jessee Herndon; and two sisters, Blanch Bean and Elsie Shoemaker.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 14 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, con ducted by Rev. Mark Meyers. Burial will be in Owl Creek Cemetery in Ankenytown.

died at home Sunday morning, Sept. 30, 2001, after a long illness. Mrs. Donaldson was born August 12, 1922 in Hinsdale, Illinois, living in the Mansfield area since 1969. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri two years and graduated from the University of Colorado.

She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Society, Richland Lithic Lapidary Society, Ontario Newcomers and Neighbors, and New Pittsburg, Ohio Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert Donaldson of Mansfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, R. Scott and Sally Donaldson of Bellville, Alan and Janice Donaldson of Bucyrus and Gordon Donaldson of Mansfield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Olson of Downers Grove, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon P. and Marie Bollinger Chase.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Woodrow 'Woody' Bailey MOUNT GILEAD Woodrow "Woody" Bailey, 83, of Ohio 19 died Sunday, Sept.

30, 2001, in Woodside Village. He was born in Cob Hill, Kentucky on Sept. 2, 1918, the son of the late Alfred and Mattie Tbwnsend Bailey. Mr. Bailey served in the U.S.

Army during WW II. He moved to Morrow County in 1952 from Portsmouth. He worked for General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant in Ontario for 25 years, retiring in 1980. Mr. Bailey was a member of the Pines Christian Church.

Woody was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Woody and Carol Bailey of Marion, Gary and Judy Bailey of Moberly, Missouri and Carnell and Sharon Bailey of Edison; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and James Mattix of Cardington and Angela and Allen Walters of Lexington; seven grandsons; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; brother, George Bailey of Cleveland; and sister, Golden Bailey of Lexington, Ky. His wife, Margaret C. Fike Bailey, whom he married May 10, 1941, preceded him in death on May 24, 1995. Three brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Snyder Funeral Home, Mount Gilead on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Gary Bailey and Neil Gilliland will conduct funeral services Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Pines Christian Church. 200 block of Eait First Street, Mansfield Someone stole $1,400 worth of tools and equipment from a construction site Saturday on First Street. West Fourth Street and Trimble Road, Mansfield A Massillon Schools bus driver Saturday told police someone threw a large rock at the bus after the bus left the game Friday between Massillon and Mansfield Senior High School. The rock broke a rear window, the police report stated. 1000 block of West Fourth Street, Mansfield Someone Friday night broke into a car parked at a parking lot on West Fourth Street and stole a $700 paintball gun from the vehicle. Ohio 13 and East Cook Road, Mansfield Police issued a summons Saturday to a 15-year-old Mansfield girl for intoxication after they found her stumbling along the road.

1100 block of Country Club Drive A 24-year-old Dillon Avenue man was charged with three counts of criminal damaging after reportedly vandalizing a 1987 Ford Mustang at 3 p.m. Sunday. Damage of more than $500 was reported to the car. Mansfield Road, Lucas A 65-year-old man is being evaluated at an area hospital after an incident involving a shotgun Sunday evening. A woman called the Richland County Sheriff's department reporting the man had a shotgun and was going to kill himself.

When deputies arrived, the man was observed sitting on a deck with the gun in his hand. When deputies approached, he stood up and pointed the shotgun in their direction. A deputy drew his weapon, ordered the man to drop the gun. When he did so, he was detained without incident. Crider and Lover roads, Mansfield A 43-year-old man from Murrell's Inlet, was charged with child endangering ond interference with the driver of a vehicle after an incident at 2: 15 p.m.

Sunday. A 46-year-old woman said she and the man got into an argument and while driving away, he yanked on the steering wheel in an attempt to keep ner from going to her sister's home. She struggled to avoid wrecking the car. When the car struck a ditch and ended in a field, she exited the cor. A 6-yearold boy in the car was not injured.

Smiley Road, Shelby A resident reported the theft of four guns during the weekend. Missing are a $600 Remington long barrel rifle, a $300 Knight muz-zleloader, a $600 Remington shotgun and a $600 Marlin Rifle. The guns were reportedly taken from an upstairs gun cabinet. Fire Liberty Park, Grace Street Mansfield firefighters report no damage to a bathroom at the park. They responded to the park at 1:04 p.m.

Fourth St. died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Brethren Care Nursing Home in Ashland after a long illness. December 4, 1910 in Red Key, Jo was born to Joseph and Mamie (Mary) (Goe) Wesner. She had been a resident of Ashland and Richland counties most of her life, having worked at Baptist Temple Book Store and formerly for 23 years at Wool-worth Co.

Bonnie Bolin, Mrs. Patricia and William Puryear, all of Ashland, and Mrs. Charleen and Ronald Carroll of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and brother, George Wesner of Ashland. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Jess and Donald Wesner, and a grandson. Services will be Thursday, Oct.

4, 2001 11 a.m. at Community Baptist Bible Church, 1043 Springmill Road, Mansfield with Pastor Randall Collins officiating. Committal service will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 12:30 p.m. at Ashland Cemetery.
