Morgan Morris. He had retired from Pea-body Galion, Inspector and Painter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of VFW. Survivors include his wife, Edith Miller, whom he married Dec.

24, 1936; two daughters, Diane Carpenter and Judy Reece, both of Galion; a son, John "Doug" Morris of Galion; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Faye Post of Galion and Pearl Mille-kin of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schneider Funeral Home, where services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. by the Rev.

Michael Millekin. Burial will be at Crawford County Memory Gardens. Robert R. Myer MANSFIELD Robert R. Myer, 59, of 1085 Lexwood Road, died Friday morning at Mansfield General Hospital after an extended illness, Mr.

Myer was born June 1, 1932, in Mansfield, living in the Mansfield area all of his life. He was owner operator of Myer Auto Repair. Mr. Myer was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, past master of Mansfield 35 F. A.M.; Illustrious master of Mansfield Council 94; past high priest of Mansfield Chapter 28; past commander of Mansfield Commandary 21; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Canton; Baku Grotto; Royal Court 42 Order of Amaranth; Shannon Council, Dublin, Ireland; VFW Harrington Post 1267; Silver Beaver Receipent, Boy Scouts of America; and a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S.

Army. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Friend Myer of Mansfield; a son, Michael E. Myer of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Patti L. Stancato of Mansfield; and a granddaughter, Amanda M. Stancato.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph D. and Viva Swisher Myer. Calling hours will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, where Masonic services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.

at the funeral home by the Rev. Blake D. Wagner. Military graveside services will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the J.

Russell Lutz Endowment Fund. Edna P. Bucy Spreng LOUDONVILLE Funeral services for Edna P. Spreng, 94, formerly of 411 Township Road 2402, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Byerly Funeral Home by the Rev.

Robert Pf lueger. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family present in the evening. Burial will be in Loudon-ville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville.

Mrs. Spreng died Friday evening at Colonial Manner Health Care Center No.l, Loudonville, after a long illness. Born Feb. 16, 1897, to Alonzo D. and Anna R.

Manchester Bucy, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Gleaner Sisters of the church, Hanover Grange and Pleasant Valley Community Club of Loudonville. Surviving are five sons, Everett G. Spreng, Donald H. Spreng, John W. Spreng, David D.

Spreng and Gerald L. Spreng, all of Loudonville; three daughters, Virginia Temple of Glen-mont, Janet Wulff of Marion and R. Jean Jones of Loudonville; 30 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Edward Spreng, on July 10, 1939; two daughters, Mary Oswalt in 1974 and Marjorie Remy, Oct.

7, 1991; a grandson, Tommy Spreng in 1953; a granddaughter, Marjorie Koffey in 1990; five greatgrandchildren, one brother and one sister. C. Fred Switzer BELLVILLE Services, for C. Fred Switzer, 55, of 265 Fitting Avenue, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Bell-ville by his pastor, Dr.

David M. Reichert. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Fred Switzer Memorial Scholarship Fund of the American Federation of Musicians may be left at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

at the funeral home, with Bellville Lodge 376 conducting Masonic memorial services at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Switzer died Friday morning in Guernsey Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Ohio, of an apparent heart attack. He was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Bellville to Ben and Elizabeth Foote Switzer and lived his lifetime there.

He graduated from Bellville High School in 1953 and was a manufacturer's representative for the Rego Manufacturing Co. of Bucyrus. Mr. Switzer was one of the founding members of the Rib Ticklers Dixieland Band and had played in various other dance bands in the Richland County area. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 159.

He also belonged to the United Presbyterian Church of Bellville, Bellville Lodge 376 Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Richland County Scottish Rite, Al Koran Temple of Cleveland, Elks Lodge of Lexington and Sons of American Legion of Irvin Hiskey Post 535 of Bellville. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wigton Switzer, whom he married Feb. 26, 1955, and a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Switzer of Saint Simons Island, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents. Lutz Bell SHILOH Vera L. Bell, 85, of 73 W. Main St. died Saturday morning in the Cleveland Clinic after a five-week illness. She was born Sept.

7, 1906, in Greenwich to Melvin and Emma Whatman Lutz. Mrs. Bell was a retired cook in the Shiloh Elementary cafeteria and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid Society and Joy Club. She was also a member of the Shiloh Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Nancy Bell of Lexington; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Morris of Florida and Ruth and Robert Wagner of Shelby; seven grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Mary Hench of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Bell in 1978; two grandchildren; and a sister. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. by her pastor, the Rev.

Hugh Hubbard. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shiloh United Methodist Church. Joyce E. Simanton Piper ASHLAND Joyce E.

Piper, 54, of 1453 County Road 1475 died early Saturday morning in her home after a long illness. She was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Ashland to Howard and Elisabeth Stone Simanton and was a lifelong resident of Ashland. She attended Grace Brethren Church of Ashland, and on Nov. 2, 1956, she married Merlyn L.

Piper, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy South of Ashland and Pam Piper of Safety Harbor, two sons, Rodney L. and Bradley E. Piper, both of Greenwich; two grandchildren; her mother, Elisabeth Simanton of a sister, Jo Gongos of Sandusky; and a brother, John Simanton of Ashland. She was preceded in death by her father in 1980.

Calling hours will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Denbow-Primm Funeral Home, where services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Howard Vulgamore. Burial will be in Nankin Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashland County Inc. Kinley Tener Shogren MANSFIELD Kinley Tener Shogren, 67, of 937 Pike Drive, died at his home Friday afternoon after an extended illness. He was born May 17, 1924, in Lakewood, the son of Thomas E. Shogren, now deceased, and Leslie Tener Shogren. He was self-employed as a freelance watercolor artist for 40 years and was well known for his many works of art.

He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1942, briefly attended Springfield College before entering the U.S. Army, where he served as a staff sergeant in the Battle of the Bulge and Hurtgen Forest during World War II. After the war, he graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art and was employed as a commercial artist until he started on his own in 1951. He moved his family from the Cleveland area to Mansfield in 1964. While living in the Mansfield area, he served on the Mifflin Township Zoning Board and taught watercolor painting classes at the Mansfield Art Center.

His paintings depicted historical and present marine waterscapes, wildlife, rural and industrial landscapes, as well as many well known Ohio landmarks. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Lee Thomas Shogren, whom he married on June 20, 1953; his mother, Leslie T. Shogren of Lexington; a brother, Thomas N. Shogren of Waynesburg, a son, Nelson Kinley pf Mansfield; three daughters, Linda Shogren, Suanne Snelling, both of Anchorage, Alaska, and Bonnie Rivera of Westminister, and eight grandchildren, Marie, Tener, Taesen, and Sera Shogren, Jonathan and Jeremiah Thorton, and Melissa and Lauren Snelling. Calling hours are Friday between 7 and 9 p.m.

at the First Christian Church in Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Lucas on Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetary with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashland County. Heyl Funeral Home in Ashland is handling arrangements.

Margaret Slaughter BUCYRUS Margaret Slaughter, 21, of the Ann Grady Care Center in Maumee died Friday afternoon at St. Luke Hospital in Maumee. She was born June 30, 1971. She is survived by her mother, Loretha Slaughter Thompson of Bucyrus; maternal grandparents, William H. Slaughter and Irvena Byrant, both of Bucyrus; two brothers, Billie Slaughter of Bucyrus and James Thompson of Brokensword, Ohio; and a sister, Jameka Thompson of Detroit.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wisniewski Funeral Home in Toledo. A memorial service will be Tuesday at the Ann Grady Care Center. Society and the Golden Lamp Society. She was married in 1929 to Oscar Nystrom, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a niece, Barbara Frentz Hoganson of Arlington, two nephews, Arthur E. Frentz of Hazlett, Mich, and John C. Frentz II of Akron; and five great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Ashland Cemetery by Dr.

Sanford C. Mitchell. No visiting hours will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Denbow-Primm Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of Esther Frentz Nystrom ASHLAND Esther Frentz Nystrom, 97, died Friday afternoon in Samaritan Hospital in Ashland after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 10, 1894, in Baltimore, to John C. and Carrie Muhley Frentz and grew up in Ashland. She graduated in 1914 from Ashland High School, where she sang in Glee CTub and played girls basketball. She graduated from Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago and for many years was a registered nurse and administrator at Presbyterian St.

Luke's Hospital in Chicago.
