Long Illness Fatal To Marvin 0. Adams 38 News Journal, Mansfield, 0. Thursday, December 5, 1974 Jacob W. Thomas Dies this area most of his life. He moved to Florida two years ago.

Mr. Thomas was a retired employe of the city of Mansfield where he worked for 52 years. He was a former Jacob William Thomas, 77, of 317 DenHelder Coloney Cove Trailer Park, Ellenton, died Wednesday morning at home. He was born Aug. 12, 1897 in Cleveland, and lived in Hunter Dies of Shotgun Wound gie Green and Mrs.

Mattie Hill, of Roderfield, W. Va. Services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Munz -Pirnstill Funeral Home by the Rev. Jack Cross.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Elgin Wells FREDERICKTOWN Elgin R. Wells, 59, of Dayton died Wednesday in a Forjt from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Galion Lodge 414, and AM will hold Masonic services at the funeral home Friday at 8:30 p.m. i Mrs. Foley BUCYRUS Mrs. Nora Jane Foley, 81, of 303 West Galon was pronounced dead yesterday at 11:10 a.m., on arrival at Bucyrus Community Hospital. She had been ill for two months.

Born at Mayberry, W. she came 13 years ago to Bucyrus where she was a housewife, and member of Bucyrus Evangelical Center. Mrs. Foley is survived by two sons, James of Bucyrus, and William of Walled seven daughters, Mrs. Lucille Evelyn Bowman.

Peter (Ruth) Thomas of 616 Gilbert Ave. and Mrs. Donovan (Janice) Cline of 131 Raleigh four grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; two brothers, Emil and Lewis of Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Reiter of Mansfield and Mrs. Ann McLaughlin of Cleveland.

Services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Wappner Funeral Home in Mansfield by the Rev. StanleyE. Mugridge of the Park Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening. Members of the Mansfield Lodge 35 will hold Masonic services Friday at 8:30 p.m. Wayne, hospital after a two-year illness. He had resided in the Dayton area for the last 12 years. He was a member of the Coshocton area Masonic bodies.

He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and was employed in the Montgomery County coroner's office. He is survived by his wife Ruth, formerly of Frederick-town; a brother-Dudley In Connecticut and two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Lewis of West Lafayette, O. and Mrs. Thyra Narcoss of Cincinnati.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Snyder Funeral Home in Frederick-town with Rev. Harold Cahn-dler officiating. Burial -will be in the Forest Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

11 at Memorial Park for William Fergusson McCartney, 79, who died Monday in Jacksonville, Fla. The Rev. David Sipes of the Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the W.F. McCartney Memorial Fund at the Grace Episcopal Church.

Before moving to Florida, Mr. McCartney had lived most of his life in Mansfield. He was a retired Westinghouse Electric Corp. employe. Among his survivors are a son, James M.

Elden Nimmons, 88, of 31 North Plymouth, died at the Ashland Samaritan Hospital Wednesday morning. He was born in Plymouth and was employed by the Plymouth People's National Bank on Jan.

1, 1904, the day it opened. He moved from janitor to president and chairman of the board at the bank. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Plymouth Community Club. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion, Ehret Parsell Post 447 and was its first commander. He was a 50-year member of the Richland Lodge, AM, 201 of Plymouth and was a life member of the Willard Area Hospital Board.

Adams, 61, of 215 North Union Galion, died this morning at the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Galion after a long illness. He was born in Marion and was a graduate of the Johnsvllle High School in Morrow County.

He also graduated from Ohio Northern University. A former resident of the Johnsville area, he was superintendent of the Crawford County Children's Home from 1942 to 1960. He was superintendent of the Lucas County Children's Home from 1960 to 1966. He was deputy director of the Ohio Department of Welfare in Columbus from 1966 until his retirement in 1970. He was a member of Galion Lodge 414, AM, the Scioto Consistory of Columbus, the Aladdin Temple of Cleveland, the Galion Shrine Club and the First United Methodist Church in Galion.

He was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers, was a life-time director of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and was an honorary member of the 20-30 Club. He was a former member of the Galion Ki-wanis. Surviving are his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Mrs. Danny (Billie Kay) Bodkins of Galion; two sons, Charles of Columbus and Daniel of Maumee; five grandchildren and a brother, the Rev. Harry Adams of Tiffin.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Mansfield, with the Rev. Frank MarLett officiating. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at noon, Friday, where the family will receive friends our reg.

Hermon Baptist Church where she served as the mother of the church and was member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, Hayes Byrd; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Jordan of Mansfield; one sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Kennon of Mansfield; one brother, Benny Kennon of Mansfield and six grandchildren. He had been reported missing and was found shortly before 5 p.m. by a search party composed of relatives, snowmobilers and members of citizen band radio clubs.

Richland County Coroner Dr. Robert W. Wolford ruled the death accidental, saying the victim "apparently fell while hunting and his gun discharged." Mr. Gaubatz was born April 21, 1911, in Austria-Hungary and had lived here since 1921. He was a retired employe of the Westinghouse Electric Corp.

A.L. Branstetter Alex L. Branstetter, 60, of Mansfield, RD 11, died in Mansfield General Hospital early this morning after a long illness. Born Jan. 31, 1914, in Har-dyvllle, he lived in this area since 1938.

Mr. Branstetter was an employe of the Fisher Body plant of General Motors and attended the St. Michael's Luther-, an Church in Mifflin. Surviving are his wife, Clare Stadlmann Branstetter; seven brothers, Leo, Luther, Leilon, Harold, and Robert all of Louisville, the Rev. E.

Branstetter of Surry, and Denzil of Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. Ann Rutledge of Glasgow, Ky. Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Diamond St. home of the Wappner Funeral directors, conducted by the Rev.

R.F. Hall of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Wilbur Smith Wilbur Smith, 49, of 339V2 Crystal Springs was found dead in the snow at his home yesterday afternoon, apparently of natural causes, according to Mansfield police who were called to the scene. Police detectives said they are awaiting a coroner's ruling before beginning any investigation. Richland County Coroner Dr. Robert W.
